Is the GTX 295 overkill if i'm using a 22 inch 1680x1050 monitor? I plan on upgrading eventually but for now I don't need anything more than 22". I am looking for the absolute best FPS(frames per second not first person shooter) I can get because I have a problem with getting dizzy from playing on consoles so FPS is of great importance for me. If your gonna play Crysis and want ok frames go with a GTX280. Far Cry 2, same thing. Pretty much any game other than those two with run fine with a GTX260 or 9800gtx+, 8800gts(g92)is another possibility. In my opinion if you don't want to have to upgrade for a year or two. Buy a GTX280 and you won't be disappointed. I'm saying all this assuming you have a decent processor already.

My setup is Core2extreme 3.0 mhz, 4g ram, 500g hard drive, single gtx 295, 750i mobo, liquid cooling, 27″ Dell 2709 monitor. My question is can I run Crysis comfortably at 1920×1200? I can always add another gtx295 and make it SLi but wanted to try on card first and see how it does…..Any thoughts?

well I have a 9800 GX2 in my Dual Opteron 2380 C2 and I am thinking of getting Dual EVGA GTX 285 FTW’s instead of Dual GTX 295’s, since a GTX 285 has the advantage of a wider bus for the ram and a larger ram buffer per GPU .
on the other hand Dual GTX 285’s also even use half the power of Dual 9800GX2’s heh never mind Dual GTX 295’s power wise, anyways Dual GTX 285’s is my choice for now hehe

3 way SLI is faster in Games coz the most GPU that a game can handle is only 3 Like Crysis…That’s why on the benchmarks 3 way SLI is faster while the Quad SLI is Overkill and thus causes bottleneck you know what I mean..I researched for this…..
Comment by somuch2see — June 5, 2009 @ 10:33 pm

is it realy nesessary?
i play asassin’s creed with 1680 X 1050 and the highest quality with one 9600xt G92!!
whenever the more quality game( sutable for this graphic card) realised the price of this graphic card would be cheaper!!
Comment by 0176070135 — June 14, 2009 @ 1:58 pm
fucking stupid niord the way he talks just want that more people would buy and put their money on this expensive **** , u dont even need that gpu for games unless ur a stupid dickhead niord

Go for the 285 becuse thay are a monster SLI combinstion beuse thay run cool becuse thay are 55nm so that are awsome on 3 way SLI
Comment by murreboy — June 17, 2009 @ 12:01 pm
The GX2 is/was great for its time and will still tear some stuff up, but I’d scratch it off that list of choices.
Comment by fuggutube1 — June 18, 2009 @ 12:05 pm
gtx 260 core 216 oc in 3 way sli =]
worth the price
Comment by hahabendover — June 19, 2009 @ 12:07 am
ok but there is someone have told me that Benchmarks show that 3-Way SLI with the GeForce GTX 285 is faster than the GeForce GTX 295 in Quad SLI.
Comment by fifastreet123456 — June 20, 2009 @ 5:46 am
You should go for 2x gtx295. I’ve got 1 GTX295, which would actually be enough to play all games out there at maximum settings. I wouldn’t go for the 9800gx2’s, because they’re expensive for what you get
Comment by ImpieYay — June 21, 2009 @ 4:26 am
i am so confused i wanna build a monster gaming rig and i don’t know what graphic cards should i buy :
2x evga gtx 295 (sli) or
