This laptop is fast with a generous 3 GB RAM and 320 GB hard drive. The display is bright and wide, great for watching DVDs. I also like that it has an HDMI port for easy connectivity to an HDMI-capable HDTV. With Windows Media Center or just about any other multimedia application, you can watch the DVDs or other videos on the HDTV. The HDMI yields an excellent, crisp picture on the HDTV, and since HDMI carries audio too, there's no need to run a separate audio cable or external speakers! The touchpad is among the best I've ever used, and it's not over-sensitive so your cursor doesn't jump around the screen as you type. The laptop also comes with a LightScribe DVD burner, supporting DVD +/-, R, RW, DL, etc. DVD-RAM is also supported.

Laptop comes with 32-bit x86 Windows pre-installed. Why manufacturers create 64-bit machines and then install 32-bit OSes on them is beyond me. I immediately reimaged the machine to x64 Windows Vista, which also eliminates all of the bloatware. Wasn't sure how much battery life I'd get--seems to be about 1.25 hours--but not sure it's really a "con" since I have the Windows power management sent to "max performance."
My wife bought me this laptop so I could work on projects without confining myself to the basement for hours. It's a sweet, fast machine that I've been very impressed with. With both wired and wireless connectivity, I can work anywhere with it, and it's got a strong wireless antenna...I can detect a neighbor's wireless that's easily 200 feet away and through brick!
